Presents under the tree...

Bringing back an old holiday favorite: Penguin Baseball (Thank me later.)

I really wanted to do another Dear Santa letter again this year. But things have been hectic with shopping and wrapping and Festivus preparations and such.

However, I am all done wrapping gifts. So in the meantime, here are a couple of pictures for your enjoyment. This is my tree and my OCD present arrangement:

Notice the unwrapped book in the lower right corner? Yeah, Axl thinks wrapping gifts isn't very manly. So that's what I got him.

And here is my front yard:

OK, not really. I don't even have a yard. That's from last year's Ice Exhibit in Nashville.

Here's wishing you all a Happy Festivus Eve!

"Please have snow, and mistletoe, and presents under the tree..."

  1. You're too cute. That's great! You're even so thoughtful as to give everyone what they want and thus don't even wrap the gift for the friend who isn't a fan. Wow.

And I thought I was good at wrapping presents: you've so got me beat!!

Btw, you buy a LOT of presents. You know that many "good" people? Or doesn't Bone keep a list? ;)

  2. Ha! OCD present arranging. ;) Which one in the pile is mine? ;) Happy Festivus

  3. The color-coordinated christmas balls really take it to the next level! :-P

  4. I'm going to wrap today. I don't have a tree to put them under. I will have to find a safe spot so the dog doesn't rip into them nor the cat pee on them. That would be tragic!! Happy Festivus Eve. I'd give you a grievance to air for me, but I just don't have any this year!

  5. You frighten me. You're fucking fantastic and all that good stuff, but...wow.

    Happy Festivus!

  6. Traveling Chica: I'm sure you're a better wrapper than me. I'm more of a stacking expert ;-)

I buy several gifts each for my Mom, Dad, and sister. Most everyone else just gets one or two.

Carmen: I happen to think it looks very neat and orderly. Are you down with OCD?

Bre: I like that. Taking OCD to another new level. Although it's tough, like today, when I have to take a couple out to bring to work. Then I have to rearrange them again. It's like a game of Jenga.

Carnealian: Aww, well it must have been a pretty wonderful year if you haven't a grievance to air.

Heather B: Frighten you? With the OCD present arrangement, or the polar bears? Grrrr!

  7. lol,you're funny.
If you did have a yard,I can imagine you'd have bears exactly like that in it!
I may have to hire you to arrange our pressies. Our tree looks
like a tornado hit it,with the kids and cats poking around it every five min.
    Happy Festivus Eve!

  8. Well, you put bows on your gifts: I gave up on that years ago for my family, mostly because they always got crushed in the stacking. ;)

Btw, I just played the penguin game and read the santa letter and I would like to say a) the game is addicting and b) the letter is fabulous! Wow, you're dedicated!

  9. Remember the letter. Played the game.

Have one question. The presents look they take up the steps. How do you get up and down?

They're very nicely arranged :) But won't Axl miss something, not opening his present?

Doesn't he know that's half the fun?

  10. Oh my God, you really are OCD!! And you're worse than me!! I love it :-)

If you don't post again between now and Christmas, Merry Christmas, Happy Festivus, Happy Hanuka uh, and anything else I've forgotten!

  11. I love how you've perfectly arranged the gifts! I love a neat and orderly man.... gggrrrrrrrr

    Merry Christmas!!!!

  12. Ms.L: Thanks. I can imagine the trouble a cat could get into with a tree, ornaments, and presents.

Traveling Chica: Well, yes, I do bows. I don't do ribbons though. Some people do ribbons, but I've never really figured out how.

What's your high score on the penguin game? I think I got 312.6 or something.

Pia: It does look like it from that angle. There is actually a path between the two large bags and the wall about half-a-staircase wide.

I dunno. I think he mostly just celebrates Festivus :)

Arlene: I was raised in a home where gifts were neatly stacked. Happy Festivus and Merry Christmas to you.

Kerry: Yes!! I knew it would pay off someday. Merry Christmas to you, too :)

  13. oh my arms are so sore from shoveling that I can barely type anymore. your gifts look very lovely. mine look like DD did most of them...she did about 1/3.

Happy Festivus. I hope you get to pin someone.

    And if I don't get back...Merry Christmas

  14. Very nice...the packages were hung by the chimney with care...

Ok so that's not exactly right, but that's what I was thinking when I looked at the picture.

Did I miss the Festivus party? I have a LOT of complaining to do. :)

  15. 323. :-) I played a lot this afternoon!

I can do bows/ribbons if I really want to, but then I'd be forced to stack them as neatly as you do and I'm just afraid I could never pull that off. ?Feliz Navidad!

  16. I just got through wrapping, and it's 2 AM...well, I got through with the ones we're supposed to exchange tomorrow and Sunday, but now there's all manner of Santa stuff....not tonight, though! If I keep this up there's no telling where and when I'll crash next :)
We went to the Ice thing year before last. Kinda cool!
I just wanted to come say Merry Christmas. You've been a great read this year and I look forward to more awesome writing to come from you in 2007! :)

  17. I can't wait until Festivus tonight!!

Jawana is excited about it... but not quite as excited since Shane and Mel aren't coming and she can't air her grievence against shane. LOL

I posted about Jawana's Birthday happenings yesterday. Wow, what a time.

I got to thinking, over the past several years, you've always been the one who has organized my birthday parties and you've always done a good job. Thanks for taking the time to do that. I'm not sure I've ever told you that before.

Also, I finally uploaded the pix that J-mo took from Thanksgiving game night onto my MS page. Why I didn't blog them, I don't know, but I guess I could do that too. Anyways that was fun. We'll have to do that more often!

Ok, I gotta work on stuff, we will see you in a few hours!

  18. Renee: Happy Festivus. We actually turned the feats of strength into a poker game last year. So we'll see...

Chickadee: My Festivus party is Saturday night. I did think about doing an online Festivus. Where everyone could air their grievances in the comments. Perhaps next year?

Traveling Chica: Seems like 323 was the highest you could get, if I recall from playing it before. The highest I've gotten this year so far is 321.

PS: Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find the Spanish translation for Happy Festivus ;-)

Jennifer: Aww, thanks. I'm glad the Thursday 13 introduced us :)

Kyle: We could always record the grievances and make a DVD and send to Shane.

And planning birthdays isn't difficult. I just always invited a bunch of hotties and, presto, happy birthday. Or something like that.

  19. i love the ocd present arrangement. it warms my (fellow ocd) heart. :)

    happy festivus! and merry christmas!

  20. PS: Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find the Spanish translation for Happy Festivus ;-) You would do this to me when I've got dial-up and can't find my Spanish dictionary for anything in the world, wouldn't you? *sigh*

You may have to correct the non-Seinfeld fan, but Festivus is the day when you basically tell people everything they've done to annoy the living crap out of you the last year, correct? If that's the case, then ?Feliz d?a de decir las quejas!

Yes, I cheated a little, but "festivus" isn't exactly a dictionary type of word. In fact, my bet is that if you were to find Seinfeld dubbed in Spanish (though why one would ever want to I have Noooooooooooooooo idea!), I'm guessing you're going to see ?Feliz festivus!

  21. Sorry, NO HOTTIES allowed at his party this year! Except for me, of course. HA HA HA!!!!

  22. I don't know what to think of the OCD gift arrangement. I'm very impressed and a little frighten too. One question: How do you get up the stairs? It looks like you placed the tree at the foot of the stair.

Have a VERY Merry Christmas! And Happy Festivus too!

  23. Man, if you ain't got your letter postmarked by now, you're out of luck. That old fat guy is already loading his sled and preparing for his downhill run. Have a Merry Christmas Bone!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I posted the festivus song video from last night! That was awesome!

I'm glad you were leading us, because I didn't know how "Silver Bells" went. Actually, I don't know how any Christmas songs go... but that's another story.

    Merry Christmas and Happy Festivus!

  25. Sizzle: Happy Festivus and Merry Christmas to you :)

Traveling Chica: Wow, that's actually not that bad. Happy day for saying the complaints? I'm impressed. Although you're the one who doesn't really like Seinfeld, correct?

    Jawana: Oh, there'll be hotties.

Sue Ellen: Happy Festivus, braless wonder.

Renee: Happy Festivus! My grievance with you: Quit hogging all the snow ;-)

Hotpinksox: Yes, someone else mentioned that earlier. It's basically an optical illusion. There's about half a staircase width there to walk by :)

Sage: Yes, I think I missed my chance this year. Merry Christmas to you, too.

Kyle: I beg to differ. If I'm not mistaken, I believe you know all of the songs on the South Park Christmas CD :)

  26. I can't be the ONLY one who doesn't like Seinfeld...

    ReplyDelete
  27. Traveling Chica: You're not. I've dated a girl or two who didn't care for it. But I will say this, if you start watching some reruns, my blog will begin making more sense to you almost immediately :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. And that would be fun for me because why?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Chica: Because! My blog is your favorite place to visit :)
