Wow, yesterday was busy. But before I get to that, I have to share the bizarre dream I had last night, before I forget any of it:
(dream follows)
I was at Cardinal, which is like Sonic, and there was a big long table on the island like between where the cars park, and a bunch of people from Applebee's were sitting there. I see Beth, but that is the only one I can remember. So Virginia comes over to take my order (which of course, you normally just order from your car), and I'm like "What's going on?" She's like, "Oh they're having a going away party for Kevin's mom. (OK, not Kevin that works at AB's) I look down at the end of the table and see Kevin (Bunny's ex-boyfriend) and his mother. lol She apparently has been working here and is leaving. So anyhow, Beth turns around and sees me, and comes over. And I talk about moving to the other side (which would involve moving my truck..lol). So anyway, the party breaks up, and Kevin and his Mom get up and come down to say hello. And he's like "Did you see the paper?" And I was like, "No." And he said, "You finished 7th in the Jesse Owens Run." LOL So I'm like, "Really?" (Now I did finish like 12th or 13th in the 2 mile run one year, several years ago, but still...) Then it kind of ends, or that's all I can remember anyway.
(end of dream recap)
So I think I know why I dreamed about Beth. Because as I was watching A Charlie Brown Christmas last night, I thought she reminded me of Sally. ROFL As for the other characters, who I haven't seen in years, who knows.
As for yesterday, I got all my laundry done. I cleaned a little, then decided to put up my tree. I got it up with no decorations, then decided to go get some dinner (at Cardinal, nonetheless). Got back and ate while I watched A Charlie Brown Christmas. After that, I went over and found my sister pulling out the stuff for their Christmas tree. So I decided I'd help her, since it is a rather large tree and she is all of 5'1" and probably 110 pounds. She then decided she'd bake cookies while I finished putting up the tree. So I got their tree all up, and ate a couple of oatmeal raisin cookies. By this time, it was like 10:00, so I left the lights and decorating to her. Then I came home, put lights on my tree, put up a few clothes, and went to bed. I was exhausted. I still have to put ornaments on the tree, but that's all.
Interestingly, it was about five degrees colder yesterday, but felt nowhere near as cold as Monday, cos there was like a 15-20 mph wind Monday. Let me tell ya, it's no fun running into a steady 20 mph headwind. Felt like I was running in a pool. Old people were walking past me. lol Just kidding.
"Hey baby, is that you? Wow, you're hair got so long. Yeah, yeah, I love it. I really do..."

Annual Christmas Party #1
A memo was posted when I got to work yesterday. Our annual company Christmas party is December 18th at Oh! Bryans. They have good food there, and that's where it was last year.
Wow, I'm really enveloped in the holiday mood. If you're looking at Christmas movies to rent. For classics, I always preferred "Miracle on 34th Street" to "It's a Wonderful Life." Probably because of Maureen O'Hara. lol I just love "Miracle on 34th Street".... the original, not the 1994 remake. As for more recent endeavors, you can't beat the humor of Clark and Eddie Griswold in "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation." When Clark thinks he's not getting a bonus, man, that just gets you, right here. (pounds chest)
I think I'm gonna put up my tree at some point this evening, while I'm waiting on laundry and stuff.
I forget what we were talking about the other day, but the statement was made that "I would never do that... unless a really hot chick asked me to." ROFL I began to think of how many things that could apply to in my life. It's fun. Think of something you normally wouldn't do or someplace you wouldn't normally go. Then imagine if a really hot chick wanted you to do that, and see if your opinion has changed. lol
"Take a good look at me now, cos I'll still be standing here. And you coming back to me is against all odds. It's a chance I've got to take..."

Someone was arrested but they still haven't found her.
Yes, let's turn the convicted sex offenders back onto the streets. Great idea.

Happy Birthday, Britney ;-)
She's 22 today. *sigh* They grow up so fast. Hit me baby one more time...
For some reason, I found this a tad disturbing.
In other news, why does my car shock me during cold weather when I get out and go to shut the door? Hmmm. Static electricity? I think not. I think its my car telling me, "Are you crazy? It's cold out there, stay in here where its warm." lol To avoid this, hold on to a metal part of the door as you start to get out of the car. You might also try touching the window first once you're out. You could also elect to leave the door open. Then just shut it from the inside the next time you get in. ROFL If none of this works, here's something I like to try: (content deleted for legal purposes) They really should have automatic fire extinguishers installed at gas pumps.
Wow, I don't know how I got off on that. I was reading yesterday that 17% of people get all their Christmas shopping done before Thanksgiving. 21% finish up on Christmas Eve. I like going out on Christmas Eve, even if I don't have to buy anything. It's just that ultimate moment of the holiday spirit, where you become a part of every Christmas movie you've ever seen. We only get to experience so many Christmases in our lifetime, and as you get older, I think you learn to treasure each one a little more. And don't forget, ABC is showing a Charlie Brown Christmas tonight!!! Woooooohooooo! I love that!
"May your days be merry and bright, and may all your Christmases be white..."

Progress Report
Well going into this afternoon, I had several things on the agenda:
Get oil changed
Go running
Nap (how'd that get in there)
Clean house
Put up tree
Pay bills
I managed to accomplish the first four. Well, I cleaned a little. I figure I'll put up my tree and stuff while I'm doing laundry tomorrow. Wow, I bet you really wanted to know all that. And suddenly we have a contender for the most boring blog entry of the year. lol
Anyhow, it's been a mildly productive day. I'm really ready to do some Christmas shopping. AMBER stopped by for a few minutes this afternoon. My sister called and said they had saved a plate of supper for me, so I went over there and heated up some home cookin'. One of my friends has invited me over for Saturday night. His wife is cooking and they are having some people over to eat and watch football. Maybe I can get up to Nashville either Friday after work, or Sunday afternoon. We'll see.
Well I'm gonna write out a few bills, watch a little more MNF (my second and third favorite teams are playing), and head to bed. I gotta revamp things. No one wants to read this stuff. lol
"Merry Christmas Alabama, where I started this wild and crazy run. Such a long way, from that first birthday. Merry Christmas everyone..."

Eeezzaaaayyy... easy like Monday morning
Reading blogs... drinkin' a YooHoo. Today's trivia: Who drove a Yoo Hoo truck on Seinfeld? (answer below)
The king is dead... Socialist-sympathizer KYLE has finally given in to the pressures of our Alternate Blog Boycott and has terminated his second blog. To those who stood strong with the BlogNation (aka B-NATO) during this intense blockade, I say thank you. I think we pushed the atomic clock several notches closer to midnight a few times, but in the end, we have found peace. As the great blogger Blogston Churchill once said, "No man deserves two blogs. A blog divided against itself cannot stand. I blog, therefore I am." Or something like that.
Wow, that was one whacked out paragraph right there. We have to plan a trip to Nashville soon to see the lights. If you've never been to OPRYLAND HOTEL, especially at Christmas-time, go. Go inside. Walk around outside. It's really a cool place this time of year. Tell them you know me... on second thought, don't. I'll never forget when we were security up there that one year. That was pretty cool.
Trivia answer: The bubble boy's dad drove a Yoo Hoo truck.
"One of these days you're gonna love me. You'll sit down by yourself and think, about the times you turned from me. And what good friends we might have been. And then you're gonna sigh a little, maybe even cry a little. But one of these days you're gonna love me..."

This is where I go to the beach!
Experts Study Florida Panhandle Drownings
Hmmm. Notice the quote about "Most Americans are overweight, and it saves your life. You're going to float in saltwater." ROFL
I do agree they need to employ some lifeguards. There are like none. I don't think I've ever seen a lifeguard, in all the times I've been to the beaches down there.
"Why won't they leave me alone? Well I feel so broke up, I wanna go home..."

SERENITY NOW!!!
I CAN NEVER GET THE STRAW IN ON THESE FREAKIN' CAPRI-SUNS WITHOUT POKING A HOLE ALL THE WAY THRU THE BACK!!!!!! SERENITY NOW!!!!
Ahhhh... better. lol All this trouble for 6 ounces of rather bland fruit flavored juice. Am I the only one who blows air into the bag after I'm over halfway finished to make it still look full? I am? Oh, ok. Thanks.
Recently remembered dialogue from Friday night...
"He has security clearance."
"Really? Does he know who killed Kennedy?"
I want to go look at Christmas lights. I saw a few last night and now I want to go riding around and look at them. And I want to go to the parade of lights and see the boats all decorated and the lights reflecting off the river.
SP was hilarious last night. There was a new handicapped kid, Jimmy, and he was doing stand-up comedy, and Timmy was getting jealous. So they got in a cripple-fight. And Big Gay Al was the kids' new scout master and was teaching them to bake stuff. Oh man, Jimmy was doing impersonations and he was impersonating Cartman, and it was funny. I know I shouldn't watch that trash. It's actually the first time I've watched that show in probably close to a year.
Random Seinfeld dialogue o' the day:
George: She says we can't go out anymore.
Elaine: Why?
George: Because I'm not Latvian Orthodox. Her parents won't let her get involved with anyone who isn't Latvian Orthodox.
Jerry: She's limiting herself to Latvian Orthodox? Too bad.
George: I know. This was the only woman I never lied to... well, that's not
entirely true. She knew I didn't have a job. She knew I lived at home. Didn't seem
to bother her. I think I could have married this woman.
"Used to chase that boy home from school. Called him freckled-face, red-headed fool. He was different. He wasn't cool like me. Sticks and stones didn't break any bones. But we never left well enough alone. Til one day he ran away from home, you see..."
