For my friend

If I took you for granted
I could not apologize enough
And if I kept you at a distance
Well, that's just how I've always been

And if we could have been something more than we are now
I cannot help but take my share of the blame
And my share is a lot

If I took you for granted
I could not apologize enough
And if I ever pushed you away
Well, that's just how I've always been

And if we could be something more than we are now
I cannot help but want to take that chance
If there is a chance to be taken

If I took you for granted
It was never my intention
And if I ever pushed you away
I don't want to anymore

And if it's too late
Well, that's just how I've always been

"Friends get scattered by the wind, tossed upon the waves, lost for years on end. Friends slowly drift apart, they give away their hearts, maybe call you now and then..."

  3. I love NaBloSoThaDraWe almost as much as I'm loving Blogust. Got anything else in the Bonechives that's this good? :) Also, why do these things not get posted before NaBloSoThaDraWe when they're amazing? I don't get it?

I think we all take people for granted. We can only hope we realize it and correct our mistakes before it's too late.

  4. SoccerMom - Thank you. Totally random, but if you swapped up the last two lines of your comment, you'd have a comment haiku.

Nanquillity - Thanks. As a guy, I think at some point it becomes easier to just always assume we're wrong :)

TC - Because, hello, then I'd have nothing to post for NaBloSoThaDraWe :)

Glad you're enjoying Blogust. And thanks for participating in NaBloSoThaDraWe.

Robyn - I suddenly feel we're nearing the point where we can communicate entirely in symbols and emoticons.

Also, I see you get your sunglasses at the same place as my dad ;o)

Thanks. I know these types of posts aren't easy to comment on a lot of times, but that was insightful.
