Ladies, are you average?

Survey: Americans Have Super-Sized Bodies

38-32-41

I think that's nice. I don't mind a bit of a "thick" girl. Sometimes I prefer it. But hey, that's just me.

Today was soooo nice, as I'm sure you noticed. Temps in the 70's. Went by to get a haircut. Stopped by DQ for a chocolate dip cone :-P Mmm. Went to shoot pool with K at 5. Went to church after that. Watched the last part of the Bama game when I got home. They came back from 22 down to win in overtime. It was pretty exciting. Gotta get in the bed. Leavin' at 5:30 in the morning. I'm a tad nervous I guess. Will blog again when I can.

"Girl I'm faded, but I'm feelin' alright. I'm thinkin' 'bout makin' my move tonight. I can't pretend that you're only my friends when you're holdin' my body tight. Cos I like the way you're makin' it move. I like the way you're makin' me wait..."

Love In The Time Of Cholera

And suddenly, a new contender for strangest blog entry title arises from the masses.

So, what book are you? Very similar to the "what country are you?" quiz. (see a few entries below)

Like Odysseus in a work of Homer, you demonstrate undying loyalty by sleeping with as many people as you possibly can. But in your heart you never give consent! This creates a strange quandary of what love really means to you. On the one hand, you've loved the same person your whole life, but on the other, your actions barely speak to this fact. Whatever you do, stick to bottled water. The other stuff could get you killed.

(Cartman voice) "Yeah, pretty much..." What the freak? Ahahahahahahaha!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Wow, maybe I have some deeper issues I need to face. Love In The Time Of Cholera. I dunno, that is just funny to say. Kim got "The Great Gatsby." That's what I wanted! That's my favorite book, and she hasn't even read it. Life is so unfair. LOL

OK, back to work. Seriouslah.

"Did you think it was fair? Did you think it was fun? Did you really believe that he was the one? And did you really think I'd take you back again? Finally found a game that you can't win. The fun is over. Let the hurtin' begin. And let me introduce you to the end..."

Observing the world while watching for falling prices... (amended)

Finally, I come up with a decent blog entry title. LOL You know, it's amazing the wide range of people that come into Wal-Mart, people from all walks of life. If Hemingway were alive today, he would probably spend hours writing and observing in Wal-Mart, instead of some quaint cafe in France... er, maybe not. Nevertheless, you can get a decent overview of our society just by spending some time inside Wal-Mart.

So that's where I went yesterday, and as I approach the door, there is this elderly lady out in the front vestibule there, standing behind an empty buggy, and she's looking at me like she knows me. So as I reach the door, she says in a rather loud tone, "You know, all these years I thought this was a grocery store." (Note here: This is not a Supercenter, but a regular "old" Wal-Mart.) So I stood there for a minute and listened to her. I told her there was a grocery store next door. I think she knew that most Wal-Marts had groceries as well, but just didn't realize that this particular one was not a Supercenter. Anyway, other people were just passing by. She was almost yelling, you know. It was kinda sad. I felt bad. See, what would be really great right about here was if I said, "Then I realized that I did know her. It was my grandmother." Or something like that. Anyway, I never figured out why she was just standing behind an empty buggy. (Buggy... that's a funny word.)

As I ventured inside and began to browse the aisles for the items I needed, I noticed a rather large section of "home" dental products. I'm talking periodontal probes, some high-tech-looking teeth cleaner, temporary fillings, etc. Basically everything but a drill and anesthetic. It scares me to think that someone buys and uses one of those long, sharp, metal probes. Yikes! So what's next, are people going to start "home dental-ing" their children?

When I was at the checkout, I saw this hottie on her way out without purchasing anything. I was like, hurry up lady!! Such exquisite beauty. I was hoping for a parking lot rendezvous. But alas, it was not to be. Perhaps our paths will cross again someday. LOL

Found out yesterday that we have to leave at 5:30 in the morning. So I won't be getting any more sleep than if I had to work. Of course, that is quite unimportant, considering.

"But will I hold you again? Your fickle, fuddled words confuse me. Like will it rain today? Wasted hours with talking, talking. These twisted games we're playing..."

Eliminating the need to communicate verbally...

Not a lot going on today. I did get confirmation to be off work Thursday for Dad's surgery, so I'll probably be pretty busy tomorrow working ahead and getting stuff done so I can be off. Stopped by to see my sister. Ran by Wal-Mart.

Already got a hit from a search for WPBA Delta Classic 2004. LOL BTW, if you check out wpba.com, click on "2004 Delta Classic Highlights" in the lower right corner. In the second picture from the top, I am in clear view on the far left, just to the left of Jeanette's elbow. I'm behind and to the left of the guy in the black jacket and blue shirt with the bulbous head. Tee hee.

Also got a hit today for someone searching for Veronica Varekova. I'm sure he was disappointed since I don't have any pics. Well, tell you what, here you go, buddy. That's all I got. LOL

Ugh... Had a lot on my mind lately. I enjoy it better when my mind is clear and mainly empty and I can be more creative with the blog. Well, I'm gonna go and watch Seinfeld.

"Somebody once asked could I spare some change for gas, I need to get myself away from this place. I said yep, what a concept. I could use a little fuel myself, and we could all use a little change..."

Thoughts on the WPBA Tournament

Well Kyle and I ventured to the WPBA's Delta Classic for the second year in a row. This year, we took along a new convert, J-Mo, and introduced him to the excitement that is live professional billiards. Didn't take J-Mo long to spot Jennifer Baretta, one of the newer players on the tour, who also happens to be quite hot. So his attention was diverted for a large part of Saturday.

The matches I got to see some or all of Saturday:
Jeanette Lee over Tiffany Nelson 9-8 (Sat.)
Vivian Villareal over Jennifer Chen 9-1 (Sat.)
Allison Fisher over Jeanette Lee 9-5, I think (Sat.)
Allison Fisher over Karen Corr 9-7 or 9-8 (Sat.)

Sunday's TV matches included:
Jeanette Lee over Helena Thornfeldt
Jeanette Lee over Karen Corr
Allison Fisher over Jeanette Lee 7-5 in the finals

I couldn't have hoped for much better. My favorite two players, Allison and Jeanette, in the finals for the second year in a row. And my favorite, Allison, winning again. She was down 5-4, but won the final three games. Wow, she made this one shot, like a three-rail bank shot, after Jeanette had played a safety on her. She went three rails with the cue ball and contacted the two-ball, which was in the middle of the table, knocking it in the side pocket. Also, we had the top four players in the world playing on Sunday. By the way, we should be plastered all over TV again this year, even moreso than last year. Kyle purposely wore a fluorescent yellow shirt. LOL

I got a pic with Jeanette and Allison. Man, I was a like a schoolgirl at an N'Sync concert at that point. Also got an autographed pic of Allison (she knows my name now). Had my pic taken with Dawn Hopkins, as well. Got to chat with her for a few minutes, too. I guess it wasn't quite as thrilling as last year, just because I was kinda used to seeing all the players and stuff, and had gotten to meet so many of them last year. But it was still very exciting, and I hope to return again next year.

Other thoughts on the weekend:
There was definitely a bigger crowd this year than last year. I'd say it was easily twice as crowded this year, probably close to three times as many people as last year.

There is (what I thought was) a strict no-flash photography policy inside the arena. No problems with it last year. However, this year, I'd say they had to stop five or six times because someone used a flash. A couple of them were right when the players were down over a shot. Come on!

Jeanette also had to stop one time and ask some loud-mouth in the crowd to stop talking. It was like, everyone was tense and quiet, and this guy was rambling and rambling, and it was quite loud.

Driving thru Memphis sure brought back some memories.

The final tally:
Greasy cheeseburger from the snack shop: $5
Two-day billiards tickets: $55
Watching J-Mo lose 75 bucks at blackjack: Priceless

OK, actually, I didn't get to see it. He was actually doing pretty good while I was watching. Nonetheless, I'm almost sure I overheard a waiter at the buffet on Sunday say something to him about washing dishes. What? ROFL

Personally, I'm not much for gambling. Putting money into a machine never to see it again. I'm out on that, really. I guess you could look at it like a video game or something. But there are a ton of people who are into it. Wow. That place was packed out. I did walk by one guy who had just hit a $6,000+ jackpot.

Anyway, I think it's safe to say that a great time was had by all. Met a couple of chicks from Louisiana. I was talking to one of them who said she plays in an APA league. It became clear to me this weekend that if I intend to get serious about pool, I need to join a league.

I'll leave you with a few WPBA funnies:
I'm walking around the casino with one of those cups they have to hold your coins in, and it is, of course, empty. Kyle says, "Man, you walking around with that cup is about as useful as this pack of condoms in my wallet." LOL I'm not sure what he meant by that. Oh wait.

Dokovic had already been eliminated by the time we arrived, so obviously, I was disappointed. LOL

We stopped at Subway on the way up there Saturday for lunch. J-Mo noticed a book lying in the back seat of the car parked next to us, titled "Why The South Was Right." Interesting.

Some dude with a bulbous head sat in front of Kyle on Sunday. He was like, "I can't see." ROFL

On Saturday, they play music in the background, a lot of 80's hits and stuff. So they were playing "Don't Forget Me When I'm Gone" and K was like, "Who is this, Huey Lewis?" And I was like, "No, it's not Huey Lewis. I think it's Glass Tiger." (short pause) "Or was that a character on Mike Tyson's Punch Out?" ROFL So then we start naming off characters: Don Flamenco, Bald Bull, King Hippo, Soda Popinsky, Glass Joe, Piston Honda. ROFL That was great.

"You can run, and you can hide. But I'm not leaving 'less you come with me. We've had our problems but I'm on your side. You're all I need, please believe in me..."

What Country Are You?

What Country Are You?

Very short quiz. I'm Egypt! What the crap? Here are my results, what are yours?

You're Egypt!
Curator of ancient mystical secrets, your life on the surface is fairly typical these days. Though you are in denial about more things than most people. Nevertheless, you're trying to convince people that you're safe despite your more volatile and unstable times that seem to be behind you. You like cats a whole lot.

I guess most of that could be true. But I don't like cats a whole lot. I like them OK. I prefer stuffed animals. What? ROFL WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

"Did you find a piece of something, wrapped around the light side of your life to make you feel better? Did you get out with your sanity? Did you save a little something for the people in need? Did you know with the rain in your pockets, you can change the weather?"

A blogging slump...

That's what I think I'm undergoing. It's 50% having been sick last week, 50% having more work to do at work, and 50% being out of town. I dunno, I guess most every experienced blogger has gone thru it. No biggie. Another thing is, seeing Bobbie Friday night just really affected me. You wouldn't think so after all this time. I dunno. It's weird. I was talking to Shane today. He was all like, "So what can I do to help get you two back together?" My friends are great. lol

Anyhow, I think I've decided to post a succinct recap of the WPBA trip. I'm sure Kyle will post the unedited, unauthorized, uncensored version on his website, and I'll contribute to that. lol

Took a two-hour nap this afternoon. After getting in bed at 4:00 AM, 3:00 AM, and 1:00 AM the past four nights, I needed it. I've been watching this Natalie Wood movie on ABC tonight. I've always been smitten with her. I didn't even know it was coming on. Just happened to flip past it. Finally, something decent to watch on TV. You know what I never understood is why they couldn't air that Ronald Reagan movie. I don't see the big deal. He obviously wasn't perfect. Big deal. I think it would be interesting. It's good to see the human side of people. But all of a sudden, you can't say anything bad about a former leader. What, is this Cuba or Nazi Germany or something all of a sudden?

In other news, the what-for-casters predicted showers and thunderstorms today. We got a few drops of rain. Good job, guys! That meteorology degree is really paying off big-time.

I've decided to take off Thursday and go to the hospital for Dad's surgery. Ideally, he'll only be in there for three days. He'll have a lot of rehab to do at home, but at least it's not an hour away, like the hospital.

I'll try to do the WPBA recap a little later, tonight or tomorrow. It's March, people. It's freakin' March!!! Where does the time go? National Frozen Food Month, by the way. I have contributed more than my fair share to the frozen food industry over the years. LOL

"All I need is one more chance to prove my love for you. I tried my best to live without you. You hold the power in your hands. You and only you, can make these broken dreams come true..."

Home, Sweet Zzzzzzzz....

Well, just wanted to say I made it home safely from the WPBA trip, in case any of you, or should I say, either one of you, were concerned. LOL Will post more tomorrow...er, today.

"Nothing's quite the same now. I just say your name now. But it's not so bad. You're only the best I ever had..."
