This blog entry isn't going to be any good...

"Something a pessimistic blogger would say." Just playing $20,000 Pyramid by myself, or whatever it was most recently named. I think I watched too much Game Show Network the other day. LOL (I insert my own laughs just in case they don't come naturally for you, the reader.)

Today's trivia: 26% of men and 17% of women admit they never do this... (answer at bottom)

I think I dreamed that I was blogging. LOL And it was really interesting. (Several readers remark, "That WAS a dream.") That's kinda sad, I think, to dream you are blogging.

Last night's celebrity look-alike winner: A young Nicholas Cage. I spotted him in AB's. I had my camera, but then I began to question myself. "I don't know how comfortable I feel asking a male server to pose for a picture." LOL I don't wanna be like the look-alike paparrazi. We were tossing funnies back and forth, like "City of Angels is my favorite movie" or "I loved you in Con-Air" or "How was it working with Meg Ryan?"

Yesterday's funny:
Me: "Why don't you get a place of your own for a few months, get used to doing things like paying bills, going shopping, and doing housework?"
K: "I do all that stuff already."
Me: "Oh."
K: "Except paying bills."
K: "And going shopping."
Me: "LOL"
K: "And doing housework."
ROFL

Trivia answer:
Wash their hands after using the restroom. Yuck!!

Twenty Questions

The following are the results of this survey:

Bone, you are somewhat left-hemisphere dominant and show a preference for visual learning, although not extreme in either characteristic. You probably tend to do most things in moderation, but not always.

Your left-hemisphere dominance implies that your learning style is organized and structured, detail oriented and logical. Your visual preference, though, has you seeking stimulation and multiple data. Such an outlook can overwhelm structure and logic and create an almost continuous state of uncertainty and agitation. You may well suffer a feeling of continually trying to "catch up" with yourself.

Your tendency to be organized and logical and attend to details is reasonably well-established which should afford you success regardless of your chosen field of endeavor. You can "size up" situations and take in information rapidly. However, you must then subject that data to being classified and organized which causes you to "lose touch" with the immediacy of the problem.

Your logical and methodical nature hamper you in this regard though in the long run it may work to your advantage since you "learn from experience" and can go through the process more rapidly on subsequent occasions.

You remain predominantly functional in your orientation and practical. Abstraction and theory are secondary to application. In keeping with this, you focus on details until they manifest themselves in a unique pattern and only then work with the "larger whole."

With regards to your career choices, you have a mentality that would be good as a scientist, coach, athlete, design consultant, or an engineering technician. You can "see where you want to go" and even be able to "tell yourself," but find that you are "fighting yourself" at the darndest times.

Your Brain Usage Profile

Auditory : 25%
Visual : 75%
Left : 53%
Right : 46%

Hmm.. that sounds about right, especially that moderation part. LOL And I definitely learn from experience. Does that mean some people don't? Hmmm. Anyhow, I ripped that little quiz off Erin's blog.

"It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you. It's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do. I bless the rains down in Africa. Gonna take some time to do the things we never have..."

A Look Back At Enero

Before I begin... well, I've already begun, I guess. Hmmm... (smoke coming out ears) Anyway, while watching the Super Bowl the other night, Ricky Proehl caught a couple of passes, and I'm like, "Ricky Proehl? Wasn't he on Tecmo Super Bowl?" ROFL We agreed that he was. I was like, "Wow, he's been around a long time." So we start trying to figure out what current NFL players were on Tecmo Super Bowl (which was a kickin' football game for the original Nintendo). Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith, Tim Brown, Rodney Peete, and Gary Anderson were the only ones we could come up with. LOL I'm sure there are more. But that's been a long time ago. I guess it was 1990 or 91. I remember even Favre wasn't on there, because Green Bay's starting QB was Don Majkowski. LOL As disturbing as it is that I remember that... hmm.. well, I really have nothing to finish that statement with. Wow, that was back in th' day when my thumbs used to get blisters from pressing that game pad and the A and B buttons so hard and so often. Four running plays and four passing plays. LOL I remember the quarters were like 5 minutes long and the kickoff would take like 30-40 seconds. ROFL Ahh... memories...

Now, looking back, January was a wonderful month in the Life De Bone. I guess it probably has as much to do with my outlook as anything. It's amazing how much my outlook has changed in the past few months. I'm thankful. February. The first thing that comes to mind when I say that word is.. my birthday. Hopefully, someone will remember it. LOL I think I might take that day off from blogging. We'll see.

Unfortunately, I sense and see a lot of my friends struggling with things, being depressed or just not able to find contentment. I wish I could help more. I want to help. I just don't always know what to do or say. Some of the things I say often sound so cliche, but they're true, as most cliches are.

One thing I do know is that January flew by, seemingly faster than any month I can recall. Let us not wish away our todays, longing for tomorrow. Let us not miss our todays, longing to return to yesterday. I can see the passing of time. I can feel the cold winds of tomorrow, even while I hear voices calling me back to yesterday, but I must live today. Here. Now.

My Top Five

Keep in mind I didn't see all the ads, because I missed most of the first quarter, plus we were flippin' channels some, too...

1. 7-Up Rolling Slam Dunk Contest
2. NFL "Tomorrow" ad, with Jerry Jones doing backflips
3. Truth's Shardsoglass.com
4. Pepsi/Hendrix
5. Willie/H & R Block

"All I wanna do is let it be and be with you and watch the wind blow by. All I wanna see is you and me go on forever like the clear blue sky..."

Surrealism (It's not just incongruous paintings anymore...)

Now I probably watch less TV and definitely fewer movies than any non-Amish person in America, but we were flipping around last night and found this Surreal Life show. Have you seen this? Get this--it has Erik Estrada, Ron Jeremy, Tammy Faye Baker, some chick who used to be on Baywatch, some other chick I don't know, and Vanilla Ice! LOL It was actually pretty interesting. Many of you know how I despise so-called reality TV, but I think I may be hooked on this. I mean, how can you not like a show when Erik Estrada usually ends up being the voice of reason? Seriouslah. The thing is, I can never remember to watch shows, because there's usually something going on, or I'm busy or something around here. Oh well...

After church last night, went to a friend's to watch the Super Bowl on the gargantuan screen. LOL My thoughts...

The game was exciting, even if most average fans couldn't name more than 2 or 3 players on either team.

I thought overall, the commercials were not up to the usual standards this year. A few I can remember that I liked were the NFL "tomorrow" ad, which ends with Jerry Jones doing backflips, the Hendrix ad, and the best one I thought was the 7-Up Slam Dunk Contest. LOL That got the biggest laugh out of me, anyway.

As I think I said earlier, I wasn't sure who to pull for, but once the game started, I found myself rooting for Carolina, probably because of the whole underdog thing more than anything else.

The big scandal... JT and JJ at halftime. Well, I was like the only person there who thought I saw something odd. Apparently, no one else saw it. Anyway, I felt like Jerry in "The Pick"... ("Well I'm not sure and... correct me if I'm wrong. But I think I see... a nipple.") LOL

Here's hoping that little stunt gets MTV banned from producing the halftime show for a long, long time. Not because of the stunt, just because of the overall show. Isn't it the same every year? A few people singing half a song, a few dancers on stage, and a few thousand people on the field dancing and screaming. I'm just not sure the core audience for the Super Bowl is 13-17 year old teenagers, ya know? And if it is, why are they showing Janet Jackson's breast?

Man names son 2.0

Well, at least it's sorta original. His wife must've been heavily medicated when she agreed to that. Sadly, I know some people who probably wish they'd have thought of it first. LOL

What Don't Kill Us...

I am feeling really bad for Mom lately. The laryngitis still hadn't cleared up as of yesterday. Saturday night, she was over at her sister's and my cousin backed into the front of her car. She called me and I could tell she was heart-broken. I just feel really bad. Her car has never been wrecked. My aunt asked her not to turn it in, because my cousin has already had several wrecks and she doesn't want her insurance to go up anymore. So Mom will probably just end up paying for the damage. They already have the expenses of my sister's wedding on them. I just wish I could pay for it all. See, that's why I could never be rich. I'd be giving my money away trying to help everyone. Oh well...

"I try to walk the sunny side of the street. Don't let no shadows tangle up my feet. There ain't no trouble that we can't rise above, with a handful of faith, and a heart full of love. Carry on. What don't kill us makes us strong. Carry on..."
